The Psychopath Test By Jon Ronson

A Journey Through The Maddness Industry

This is a great good by one of my favorite authors who also wrote “Them” and “The Men Who Stare at Goats.”. Ronson’s books take us to places and a part of society seldom seen or even thought about. This book chronicles his experiences with psychopaths and the institutions that treat or attempt to treat them. This is a look into what a psychopath is and how these individuals affect all walks of society. It is a glimpse into how bizzarre the treatment options have been but more importantly, it makes one question our own “sanity.”

The psychopath test, used by doctors as a means to identify these rare and frightening manipulators, may be a too quick and simple way to catagorize someone or it may be the only way to protect us from monsters.

The book is an interesting, fun, and often a disturbing read. It makes you ponder this question, when it comes to some of the distructive people in our lives, “are they psychopaths or just dysfunctional?”
