The Mad Followers of Rael
Right up there at the top of the nutcase heap are the followers of Rael, the Raelians. It all started with Rael, a French journalist and racecar driver originally names Claude. He was born in 1946 and claimed that on December 13, 1973 he was in a Volcano near Clermont-Ferrand France (the first question I want to ask is why he was in a volcano) when he saw a very shiny UFO. He says a radient being came out, told him he was being entrusted with messages revealing the origin of mankind, and that from then on, he would be known as Rael, which means messinger.
He wrote a book called “The True Face of God” and his followers consider him to be “the prophet of the third millennium.” According to his book he was taken to the planet of the Elohim in a flying saucer in 1975. The Elohim are small pale green human shaped beings with almond shapped eyes. They supposedly introduced him to Jesus, Budda, Confucius, and Joseph Smith and told him that he was the final prophet until the Elohim returned to Jerusalem in 2025.
He claims that the Elohim told him that we humans were created from the DNA of aliens 25,000 years ago and that all life on earth was created in alien laboratories. He was also told that cloning will bring us eternal life and even formed a cloning company called Clonaid so that people can have children cloned from themselves. Scientists say that Clonaid is just a fantasy but remind us of what can happen if religious lunitics ever get control of genetic engineering.
The Raelian headquarters are in Canada and they claim to have over 50.000 members in 85 countries. Their members pay a 10% tithe (which I am sure he is more than happy to pocket) and in return he offers a completely guilt free sexual playground because according to him the Elohim want us to have a good time.
They have an “Evidence Page” on their website which will only appeal to the mentally and logically impaired. It is full of speculation and fantastic claims that they are “about to create life in their laboratories.” They also consider all UFO sightings as “proof.”
It does make you wonder though…..why would a clearly advanced alien civilization first take the time to create all of the bugs, germs, animals and so forth……then wait for 25,000 years to reveal it all to a racecar driver who happens to be in a volcano? But then again, it is not much weirder than many of the tales from the Bible with talking snakes, flying cherubs, demons, gods, and an eternal firey pit….is it?
You say a lot of things that are factually incorrect. You clearly know nothing about the Raelian movement. I’m not sure where you got your information from (you most likely made it up) but clearly your source is not valid.
Anyone reading this should read (or at least read part of) one of Rael’s books (something this author clearly hasn’t done) to find out what he really believes.
I have read some of his works. I think his theories and the fact that he states his information was given to him from an “alien that came out of a shiny UFO” says it all.
Sounds like this guy read some Sitchin books. Also sounds like Wesley is butthurt to be called out, haha.
I am an atheist (ex-christian) and discovered this rather compelling.
